Trade Unions In The Czech Republic: We Are Ready To Go On Strike

Josef Středula, the leader of the Czech-Moravian Confederation of Trade Unions, declared that his group was prepared to go on strike in response to income reductions brought on by economic changes. He also accused Petr Fiala, the prime minister of the Czech Republic, of lying, reports Idnes newspaper.

“He is unable to express regret for his lies to his fellow residents. He failed to follow through on a promise to explore reforms with both companies and labor. He vowed not to increase taxes. He raises them. He refused to raise the retirement age, but did the opposite. Shame! » Středula tweeted.

Středula stated that the confederation was prepared to arrange a strike in light of the fact that the Czech authorities « have crossed all borders. »

The union leader will speak with Fiala and other government officials about the situation and will outline the costs associated with the change for the Czech people.
