Switzerland Increases Penalties for Terrorism

In addition, the Swiss Federal Council, following the Council of the Cantons (upper house of the Swiss parliament), decided that recruiting potential terrorists and preparing for an act of terrorism, as well as participating in a trip whose purpose is to commit an act of terrorism, should also be criminally punished.
In the future, corresponding legislative changes will allow to create international investigative teams and to exchange information with foreign authorities faster, dpa agency emphasizes. It is expected that these steps, in turn, will help prevent major terrorist attacks.
