Reuters: Frosts Will Cut Wine Production In France
Wine production in France will decline in 2021 due to spring frosts in the country, which caused severe damage to vineyards, reports the country’s Ministry of Agriculture.
« Because of the spring frosts, a large part of [this year’s] wine production is declining, with figures expected to be at historically low levels. Below similar figures for 1991 and 2017, » Reuters quoted the ministry as saying.
Wine production in France is expected to fall to 33.3 million hectoliters this year, down 29 percent from the previous year.
According to the ministry, unfavorable weather conditions affected almost all wine-producing regions of France to varying degrees.
