Nearly Thousand Of Flights Canceled In France Due To Air Traffic Controllers Strike

According to a source at France’s General Directorate of Civil Aviation, almost a thousand flights will be canceled in France on Friday as a result of an air traffic controllers’ strike, according to AFP news agency on Thursday.

« There will be about 1,000 flight cancellations regarding to entering and leaving the French territory, » said the source.

Due to the strike by air traffic controllers, the French General Directorate of Civil Aviation demanded on Tuesday that airlines cancel half of their flights scheduled for September 16 due to the high likelihood of cancellations and delays.

In response to the demonstrations, the French airline Air France announced on Wednesday that it will cancel more than half of its short- and medium-haul flights on Friday.
