Merkel Subjected To Home Quarantine
On Sunday, March 22, German Chancellor Angela Merkel went to quarantine, which will take place at home. This was announced by the official representative of the German government Steffen Seibert. According to him, this decision was made after it turned out that the doctor who vaccinated the Chancellor against pneumococcal infection on March 20 was tested positively for coronavirus.
Merkel will be regularly underging tests for coronavirus over the next few days, « because testing today could not yet give a convincing result, » Seibert explained. The Chancellor will fulfill her duties while in quarantine.
Just before the official spokeswoman for the government’s message, Merkel spoke at a press conference, talking about the agreement reached with the heads of federal states on additional measures to curb the spread of coronavirus in Germany. The chancellor learned about the positive result of testing the doctor who vaccinated her after talking with the press, Seibert noted.
