McKinsey: Germany Will Face Power Shortages In 2025
Germany could experience a 4 GW energy shortage in 2025, and a 30 GW shortage by 2030, forecasts McKinsey.
According to McKinsey analysts, this scenario might arise as a result of the nation’s rising electricity consumption in the face of power plant closures.
The research states that « the longest period of blackouts may last up to 21 hours » in 2030.
The agency on the security of the country energy supply forecasts a steady supply of electricity even if Germany fully abandons coal by 2030. According to analysts cited by Bloomberg on February 22, Germany « survived » this winter without Russian energy resources, but in the long run, the state will need to address new issues with resource delivery.
