Johnson Promised To Introduce Categories Of Work Visas In The UK

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced a plan to introduce three categories of work visas in case of victory in the upcoming December elections.

UK general elections will be held on December 12th. Conservatives seek to implement Brexit on January 31; liberal Democrats advocate preserving EU membership; Labors promises a new referendum. Early elections were the result of a political crisis over Brexit.

« We will have (exceptional visas – ed.) » Exceptional talent « – these are for scientists, geniuses from organizing startups, people who will contribute to the growth of the UK economy… prima ballerinas, first violins, » Johnson told the Sunday Times.

He noted that such people will not need to receive a job offer in the country, and they will be issued visas promptly.

The second category will include skilled workers who will need to receive a job offer in the United Kingdom. The third category includes those who come to the country « on an industry basis » for a short time to work for which no special qualifications are required. Johnson cited seasonal workers in agriculture as an example. The prime minister also emphasized that in this category “there is no way to obtain a residence” in Britain.

This system will be organized according to the Australian model. It will allow, according to the prime minister, regaiing control of the British borders after leaving the EU. Johnson emphasized that innovation would make Britain “open to the world,” despite the likely decline in the number of migrants coming to the kingdom. It is also noted that equal labor conditions will be provided for labor migrants from the European Union and the world as a whole.
