Italy Worsens GDP Growth Forecasts

The National Institute of Statistics of Italy reported that GDP growth in 2023 and 2024 is expected to be worse due to the country’s economy slowing down.

According to Istat’s June projections, growth would be 1.2% this year and 1.1% the following year. The government’s policy paper on the parameters of the forthcoming budget, issued in September, expected growth of 0.8 per cent and 1.2 per cent respectively.

According to Istat, net external demand will contribute negatively by -0.1 percentage points this year, while domestic demand will positively contribute by 0.8 percentage points.
