In the last week, the number of infections in Italy has doubled compared to the end of July, and returned to the level of May. According to the Johns Hopkins Institute, 400-600 new infections are detected in the country every day.
At the same time, doctors note that recently people under the age of 40 get sick more often. In total, since the beginning of the pandemic in Italy, almost 254 thousand cases of infection have been registered, more than 35 thousand people died. The health minister urged citizens to be as cautious as possible. “We cannot nullify all the victims of recent months. Our main task is to open schools in September in a completely safe environment,” he stressed.
