Italian Authorities Are Planning To Reduce National Debt

Italian Economy and Finance Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti stated that the new government of Italy intends to lower the nation’s public debt.

During a speech at a public event in Rome, the minister stated, « the new government seeks to reaffirm its commitment to decreasing the public deficit and the debt-to-GDP ratio in the coming years. »

Giorgetti referred to anti-crisis measures in other European nations when he stated the need to « protect families, especially the most vulnerable, » from rising energy prices and the cost of living.

With a monthly decrease of €12 billion in August, Italy’s public debt now exceeds €2.757 trillion.
