Cyprus, Greece, Israel and the United States have agreed to cooperate more actively in the energy sector, foreign ministers said in a joint statement following Monday’s 3+1 teleconference.

The foreign ministers held the teleconference to reaffirm their shared commitment to promoting peace, stability and prosperity in the eastern Mediterranean, according to a document released by the Greek Foreign Ministry’s information service.

The ministers also supported additional initiatives, such as a ministerial meeting in the Negev desert, that promote cooperation in the region. The ministers also condemned recent terrorist attacks against Israelis, including the May 5 attack in El Ada.
