Germany Faces Record Rise In Industrial Inflation

According to data from the Federal Bureau of Statistics, Germany’s producer prices (PPI) increased at a record rate in August when compared to both the previous month and the same time last year, with rising energy prices continuing to be the primary cause.

The producer pricing index (PPI) for Germany increased in August by 7.9 percent from July and 45.8 percent from one year earlier.

Average energy prices increased 139% from the same time last year, more than doubling. Their expansion was up 20.4% over the previous month.
