French MPs Vote In Favor Of Finland And Sweden Joining NATO
Tuesday night, the French National Assembly’s (the lower house of parliament) members decided to approve the NATO membership for Finland and Sweden.
A deal regarding entry of the two European nations to the North Atlantic Alliance was approved by the French Senate in July.
Bills to approve the accords admitting Finland and Sweden to NATO were introduced on Tuesday night in the national assembly. There were 209 votes in favor and 46 votes against the two nations joining the partnership in the lower chamber. The national assembly’s website carried live coverage of the voting.
