France Allows Huawei to Stay on Local 5G Market
Manufacturer of telecommunications equipment Huawei will receive an opportunity to enter the French market to create a 5G network. At that, operators using the equipment of this company will receive a limited permit for operation for up to eight years, reports Le Figaro.
“There will be no complete ban. Operators who do not use Huawei, we urge them not to leave. For those who already use it, we issue permits, the validity of which varies from three to eight years,” the French National Security Agency said in a statement.
It is known that only three manufacturers of telecommunication equipment, European Nokia and Ericsson and Chinese Huawei, can supply equipment for creating a 5G network in France.
At the end of January 2020, the European Union partially opened its doors to Huawei to develop a 5G network, challenging the United States, which accuses the Chinese manufacturer of espionage.
