EU Stops Accepting Refugees
Due to the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, the EU ceases to accept refugees indefinitely. Germany has previously suspended the reception of refugees for humanitarian reasons.
Due to the SARS-CoV-2 type coronavirus pandemic, the European Union has suspended the deployment of new refugees from crisis regions. It is still unknown when the reception programs will resume, the European Commission said on Thursday, March 19.
Already two days earlier, the International Organization for Migration and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees announced a temporary suspension of refugees. On March 18, Germany announced that it was suspending the reception of refugees for humanitarian reasons.
According to the Worldometer resource tracking the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, since December 2019, more than 240 thousand cases of infection with a new coronavirus have been officially recorded in the world. The infection took away the lives of nearly 10 thousand patients.
