EU Opens Representative Office In Qatar To Promote Cooperation

In order to improve energy cooperation, the European Union opened an office in Qatar, according to European Council President Charles Michel, who made the announcement during a ceremony in Doha.

« We are in Doha to solidify the exceptional partnership between the European Union and Qatar. The main areas of our bilateral cooperation are energy supplies and regional economic stability, » he added.

In an effort to move away from Russian energy resources, EU nations are in discussion with Qatar, the largest producer of liquefied natural gas in the world, to increase gas supply to Europe.
