EU Discusses Possibility Of Importing Gas From Israel
In order to minimize its reliance on Russian fuel, the EU is working on a deal to buy gas from Israel via Egypt, says Bloomberg.
The fuel will be shipped to Egypt to be converted into LNG before being distributed to the EU. The petroleum is likely to be refined at refineries in the Egyptian cities of Idku and Dumyat, according to the agency.
According to documents obtained by Bloomberg, the EU, Israel, and Egypt also want to expand their green energy collaboration.
Josep Borrell, the EU’s top diplomat, had previously stated that the EU intends to clinch a trilateral LNG supply arrangement with Israel and Egypt by the summer.
