EU, China May Sign Investment Agreement This Week
The EU and China may conclude an agreement on investment cooperation within a week, the South China Morning Post reported, citing sources.
According to the newspaper, neither delegation has raised objections to the outstanding issues.
On December 28, the South China Morning Post reports, EU negotiators notified the country’s representatives of progress in negotiations with China, including on the issue of labour law compliance.
EU markets are already fairly open to most foreign direct investment, so China may make further concessions to European partners, the newspaper’s sources said.
In particular, EU companies are expected to gain advantages in the areas of telecommunications, finance and hybrid and all-electric vehicle markets.
