The European Commission on Tuesday approved €1 billion in subsidies for Polish agricultural producers according to a plan drafted by the Polish government.

The message stated that « the aid regime was approved as part of a temporary mechanism for state support during the crisis. »

Polish state funding for agricultural producers is intended to « speed up their ecological transition and reduce their reliance on fuel. »

The EC recalled that temporary regulations allowing EU states to subsidize their domestic economies were enacted in March 2022.
