Britain, EU Agree On New Deal Under The Northern Ireland Protocol

According to a government source quoted by Sky News television, the UK and the European Union have reached consensus on a new trade agreement under the Northern Ireland protocol after Brexit.

« The deal has been worked out. It is completed, » an insider told the channel.

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen covered specifics of the deal during Monday meeting in Windsor.

The UK’s violation of the Brexit arrangements prompted the European Commission to declare start of legal proceedings against the nation in March. According to reports, the European Commission (EC) delivered a letter to the state notifying it that it had violated both the EU Withdrawal Agreement’s good faith requirement and the key clauses of the Protocol on Ireland and Northern Ireland.
